The 14th annual Advanced Maui Optical and Space Surveillance (AMOS) Technologies Conference is drawing widespread support including sponsorship from The Boeing Company.

“This conference is always a great opportunity for our team to interact with our government and industry partners,” Boeing Hawaii Site Director Jerry Cornell said. “It’s also a great way to show how the research and development work we do locally at the Maui Space Surveillance Complex ties in to the greater Boeing picture.”

For the seventh consecutive year, Boeing is a top sponsor at the AMOS Conference. With 30 of its staff signed up to attend, Boeing plans to have an exhibit that highlights a variety of the company capabilities in relation to space situational awareness and adaptive optics research and development. Locally-based engineers will present alongside their international peers on technical topics during the conference.

“We’re grateful to partner with Boeing as one of the conference’s top sponsors,” said Sandy Ryan, Conference Director with Maui Economic Development Board. “Boeing’s tremendous support has been an invaluable contribution to the success of the conference.”

AMOS will feature an international assembly of space situational awareness experts gathering September 10-13 at the Wailea Beach Marriott Resort & Spa on Maui. A program of the Maui Economic Development Board, the AMOS Conference features a cross-section of military, industry and academic participation in the field of space situational awareness that is unmatched by any other conference in the world.

The event provides a venue for technical interchange on a variety of these space-related technologies including faint object detection, orbital debris, astrodynamics, optical systems, non- resolved object characterization, space-based assets, adaptive optics, and imaging. In addition to the technical sessions, attendees will have the opportunity to attend a special Space Policy Forum to hear current issues and trends in national and international policies that impact their important work.

At this year’s conference, more than 120 presentations will be featured from around the world including Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Japan, Poland, Spain, Switzerland and the Ukraine.
