What health and safety protocols will be in place during the conference?
Safety protocols are in line with CDC guidelines, Hawaii State regulations and hotel protocols. Participants are expected to comply with Hawaii Tourism Authority guidelines including any pre-travel testing or vaccinations to avoid 10-day quarantine. As a further safety precaution for all attendees, EVERYONE will also be asked to show either show a proof of vaccination OR a negative COVID test within 3 days of AMOS/arrival in Maui.
- Onsite there will be no exhibit hall or in-person poster boards to limit gathering in tight places.
- The ballroom seating will be expanded to accommodate social distancing with limit of 50% maximum capacity.
- Guests will be required to wear masks at all times in public areas and maintain social distancing.
- Hand Sanitizing Stations will be provided throughout the Meeting Space along with signage promoting social distancing.
- Coffee/Beverage Stations will be safely separated to ensure social distancing.
- Banquet Menus will be modified to feature selections that can be safely served.
Participants daily participation will be on the agreement that they are not exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 including raised temperature, cough or shortness of breath.

What will the hybrid experience be like?
Presentations will be in the main ballroom, and will have both in-person presenters as well as virtual presentations. Virtual attendees will be able to view ‘live’ the Keynotes, Policy Forums and any session marked with an asterisk on the agenda. Other sessions will be pre-recorded and made available on-demand at relevant times in the schedule.
Both in-person and virtual attendees can use the virtual platform to view schedule, access resources, post in the social feed and network (connect, send messages, setup meetings) with each other and with sponsors

Why am I having trouble accessing the platform or the sessions once I'm logged in?
The most common issues are a VPN connection that is blocking the application, or type of internet browser you are using. Please temporarily disable your VPN if you are having trouble. In addition, check that your internet browser is up-to-date. Chrome is the preferred internet browser, followed by Firefox and Safari. Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge are not supported.
If you are still having trouble, speak to your IT department about whitelisting these domains.

How will I attend virtually? Is it a Zoom meeting?
It is more than a Zoom meeting. A week before the conference you will be given access to the Conference venue which you can access on any device through a browser. Nothing to download! You will be able to navigate to the Live sessions, the pre-recorded Tech Sessions, the Poster Hall, the Exhibit Hall, the Networking lounge and more. Will I be able to watch a recording of the presentations if I can’t make it to the live times?
The live stream (or real time) portions of the program will be available on-demand – these include the keynote addresses, SSA Policy Forums and Featured Presentations. Replays are usually available 24-48 hours after the live event.
Technical presentations will be available 30 minutes after the live session concludes.
Are the Technical Short Courses in-person or virtual?
Short Courses will be either wholly in-person or wholly virtual. If you are attending AMOS on Maui then you can attend the in-person Short Courses, or participate online in a virtual offering. If you are attending virtually you can only select from the online courses. Short course descriptions can be found at https://amostech.com/short-courses/
Can I participate in more than one short course? Will they be recorded?
You can select one short course from each of the two sessions. Short courses within a session run concurrently and will not be recorded. These are intended to be interactive and must be attended in real time. Course materials will only be shared with registered attendees.
How can I network at the virtual AMOS Conference?
There are a number of ways to network via the conference platform. You can connect with other participants whether they are attending in-person or virtually.
- The networking lounge will feature zoom rooms that you can start or join a conversation. There will be rooms based on session topics and more.
- There will also be a discussion board where you can chat or ask questions. Keep an eye out for Sponsor and Exhibitor announcements here!
- Plus, you will be able to see other participants profiles (you even get a name badge) and can reach out for 1-on-1 contact.
Can I register after the event has started?
Yes you can however you secure the better rate when you register in advance. The early bird rate ended June 30, and the advanced rate ends September 8. Registering in advance also means you have access to the venue prior to the event to get familiar and to start networking.
How do I change my registration?
You can login to the registration and add short courses to your existing registration. You can also unselect items and change registration type eg in-person to virtual.
Our refund policy, also stated on the registration page is: Cancellations prior to August 14, 2021 will receive a full refund less $50 processing fee. No fees will be refunded after this date. There will be no refunds for no-shows. Last day to substitute a registration or change to virtual attendance is September 9, 2021.

The AMOS Conference contracts a limited block of rooms at the Wailea Beach Resort Marriott. As often happens with large Conferences, it is not feasible to house all participants at a single venue.
