The AMOS Conference is pleased to announce that General William Shelton, commander of Air Force Space Command, is slated to deliver the opening Keynote Address at the 2012 AMOS Conference on Wednesday, September 12, 2012.
General Shelton’s Keynote “elevates the conference and sets the tone for the technical sessions that follow,” said Jeanne Skog, President & CEO of the Conference host organization, the Maui Economic Development Board.
Just last week, General Shelton testified before the House Armed Services Committee in support of the Fiscal Year 2013 National Defense Authorization Budget Request for National Security Space Activities. In his testimony, General Shelton stated, “Space Situational Awareness is fundamental to everything we do in space. As our dependence on space capabilities increases, and as the number of space faring nations and objects in space increase, so does the need to improve our SSA.”
