Overview and Highlights

Co-hosted by The Boeing Company, the conference kicks off with the welcome reception providing participants with a unique networking opportunity. Surrounded by tropical breezes participants and their guests were greeted with a shell lei, a beverage, appetizers, all while listening to the U.S. Air Force Band of the Pacific.
Over 80 technical papers were presented in oral and poster sessions by engineers and technical specialists from around the globe.  In addition to strong technical content, AMOS presented panels on “Space Debris Observation Status and Needs” and “Future Directions for Collaborative SSA.”
In what’s become a highly anticipated annual event, this year’s Space in the Classroom activities featured an “Audience with an Astronaut” with astronaut Dr. Leroy Chiao, hands-on space-related science experiments and a visit with industry leaders in the AMOS Exhibit Center for 300 Maui students, as well as a full-day workshop for 15 teachers co-presented by the Space Foundation with support from industry partners.
