STAYING IN MAUI

How do I book accommodation for the AMOS Conference?

The AMOS Conference contracts a limited block of rooms at the Wailea Beach Resort Marriott. As often happens with large Conferences, it is not feasible to house all participants at a single venue.

The unprecedented growth of the AMOS Conference and commitments to conference leadership and stakeholders often leads to our room block reaching capacity. We recommend you secure alternative lodging with options listed at – https://amostech.com/attendee-info/

What are transportation options during AMOS?

Read about transportation options at – https://amostech.com/attendee-info/

What parking is available at the venue?

Complimentary self-parking is available for participants not staying on property. With anticipated numbers, and the majority of attendees staying elsewhere, we encourage you to carpool if possible. Parking gates will be left open Wed-Fri. If the parking structure is full, overflow parking is available next door at The Shops at Wailea.

I did not receive a confirmation email. How can I view it?

Please check your junk or spam folder. The email comes from info@amostech.com but through a different server to our usual email. Please let us know if you still do not find it.

Am I registered if I choose to pay later?

Registration, and a seat at AMOS, is not confirmed until payment is made. Early bird registrations must be paid by the deadline of June 28. Any registrations that are incomplete after June 28 (i.e. without payment) will lose the early bird rate and be added to the waitlist.  Details on rates can be found at https://amostech.com/registration

I can no longer attend. How do I cancel my registration? What is the refund policy?

If you are no longer able to attend in-person, we encourage you to transfer your registration to a virtual ticket to have access to all the sessions, either live or on-demand after the event.

To transfer or cancel please contact us. If making a substitute, please provide  name of new attendee.

Cancellations prior to August 16, 2024 will receive a full refund less $75 processing fee. No fees will be refunded after this date or for no-shows. Last day to substitute a registration, or transfer to a virtual registration is September 11, 2024.

How do I transfer my registration to a substitute?

We do not issue physical tickets. When you check-in at AMOS, staff will check for your name in the system and check your ID.

If you transfer your registration to another individual your invoice is null and void.

How do I change my registration?

Use the link in your confirmation email to access your registration profile and make any updates. You can add short courses to your existing registration once available in June. When you add a short course keep all other registration details, including registration type. At checkout you will be prompted to pay the additional short course fee(s).

Warning: If you remove/delete the AMOS registration type you will be cancelling your registration!

If you are changing type of registration (in-person to virtual for example) then you first delete the existing registration type and then add the preferred type.

If a refund is due for switching to virtual, or you wish to transfer registration to a colleague please contact us.

How do one or two day registrations work? Can I select which days to attend?

When you select either 1-Day Registration or 2-Day Registration you will see an option to select the days you will be attending.

I have a virtual ticket but will be on Maui. Can I attend networking receptions or visit the exhibit hall?

No. Virtual registration does not allow access to the in-person venue and/or events.

VIEWING PRESENTATIONS – VIRTUAL

How will I attend virtually? Is it a Zoom meeting?

It is more than a Zoom meeting. A week before the conference you will be given access to the online Conference venue which you can access on any device through a browser. You will be able to navigate to the Live sessions, the Poster Hall, and more. Please whitelist info@amostech.com to be sure you receive notification of how to access the venue, as well as other conference related notices.

Why am I having trouble accessing the platform or the sessions once I'm logged in?

The most common issues are a VPN connection that is blocking the application, or type of internet browser you are using. Please temporarily disable your VPN if you are having trouble. In addition, check that your internet browser is up-to-date. Chrome is the preferred internet browser, followed by Firefox and Safari. Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge are supported and we recommend you have the latest versions.

Will I be able to watch a recording of the presentations if I can’t make it to the live times?

All sessions, including technical presentations, will be live-streamed. Recordings will be available within 24 hours.

How long do I get to view presentations and access the virtual platform?

The virtual platform will be available to all registrants up to 3 months post-AMOS Conference.

ATTENDING IN-PERSON

What is recommended attire for the AMOS Conference?

Dress for military is short sleeve blues (or equivalent) for Wednesday, and business casual thereafter. For all other attendees, dress is business casual for all conference sessions and events. On Aloha Friday we invite you to wear your favorite aloha attire.

Can my guest/colleague attend any conference events without a registration/namebadge?

With record attendance expected at this year’s AMOS Conference, only badged participants may attend the various Conference events including the Friday Pau Hana reception, an event designed as our way of saying “Mahalo and A Hui Ho” to our AMOS participants.

The exception is the Tuesday evening Welcome Reception at which one (1) guest may join each registered participant and need not register.

What health and safety protocols will be in place during the conference?

Participants’ daily participation will be on the agreement that they are not exhibiting any symptoms of COVID-19 (or other respiratory virus) including raised temperature, cough or shortness of breath.

What will the hybrid experience be like? Do I need the virtual platform?

Presentations will be in the main ballroom, with all presenters in-person. The online platforms complement the live experience of AMOS and is available to ALL attendees, in-person and virtual. Easily connect with fellow attendees; customize your agenda; and interact on the social feed.

You will be able to view livestreams of all sessions on both, as well as replays, plus see all the posters.  The virtual platform is browser based, and a Conference App can be downloaded to your mobile device. Choose which works best for you. Registrants will receive details to access both of these a week before AMOS. Virtual attendees will be able to view all sessions live including the Keynotes, Policy Forums and all technical sessions. Recordings will be available on demand within 24-48 hours.

Will there be a Luau this year?

The AMOS Conference ticket does NOT include a Luau. The Wailea Beach Resort does hold Luau’s and tickets can be bought separately at the venue. Learn more at https://teaumoana.com/

Someone is trying to sell me a list of AMOS attendees - do you share my details with third parties?

Maui Economic Development Board does not sell its attendee list to third parties. If you receive an email solicitation regarding the AMOS Conference list, please do not respond as it may be a phishing exercise and is an inaccurate representation by the third party.
